Coalition for a Better Chinese American Community

CBCAC leads policy advocacy and community planning in Chicago's Greater Chinatown area. We have four program areas: Civic Engagement and Advocacy, Community Planning, Youth Empowerment, and Neighborhood Outreach since 1998. Over the years, we have been successful in advocating for a new library, new field house, and a new entrance to the CTA Chinatown stop. Most recently we were successful in achieving the first majority Asian American ward in the City of Chicago and fought back against a proposed casino nearby. We also have outreach programs designed to increasing digital literacy, as well as to push back against gentrification and displacement.
